OFFICE HOURS
The Office Hours for your local Health Department Monday
through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm*
* Some clinics such as Teen Clinic, Family
Planning, and WIC are held after 4:30pm, also the Health Department will be closed for all official Virginia state holidays.
Appointments
If you are seeking one of the services offered, please call and schedule an appointment time.
Clinics are filled
on a
first come, first served basis. Emergency situations will be handled immediately or referred to
an outside source. Please plan to bring proof
of income information to every appointment.
Approximate Visit Times & Clinic Flow
Please plan for your visit to last between 30 minutes to 1 hour, sometimes longer
depending on the circumstances of your visit. If you need to be late to a
clinic appointment, please call your local Health Department so that they can
schedule accordingly. Being late to a scheduled clinic appointment may
result in a delayed time being seen.
Walk-In Information
While the Health Department does not have official "walk-in" clinics
(exceptions: Teen
or STD clinics),
we do have a nurse on duty between the hours of 8-10am and 2-4pm. If a
nurse is required for a walk-in visit, the client will be asked to come back
during the preset nurse on duty hours, otherwise our clerical staff will try to
help you as much as possible.
Medical Information
The clerical staff of the Health Department can not give out/discuss client information or give advice, we do however consult with doctor's
offices and other agencies, and can send client information if necessary with a
signed release form. Our clerical staff can give you shot records, and discuss what
immunizations are required for your child based on the U.S. Centers for Disease
Control's "Recommended
Childhood Immunization Schedule - United States, January-December 2002".
